By 1896, the Bucks CCC had spent about £1,000 on the ground when it was completed.

The first bicycle racing at the ground was at the Buckinghamshire Constabulary Athletic sports, held in 11th August 1904 which included a one mile bicycle handicap race, the attendance was 5,000. The annual police sports moved around the county but were held again at the ground many times over the next thirty years.

On 25th March 1911, the Bucks County Cricket Club decided to hand over their interest in the ground for an annual rent of £28 and £133 for the cost of fixtures, principally the pavilion. A new company, called the Aylesbury Sports Club Limited, was formed on 10th December 1910 to take over the ground. Aylesbury and District Sports Club was set up to manage the ground and cricket, bowls and tennis sections were quickly formed, the first sports meeting was held on August Bank Holiday 1911, but without bicycle racing.

In 1935, the police sports were discontinued because of the time involved in organising the meetings and there was no further bicycle racing at the Wendover Road ground.

Aylesbury Sports Company Limited still control the ground and it is still managed by the Aylesbury and District Sports Club. The following sports groups have facilities there, Aylesbury Tennis Club, Aylesbury Squash Club, Foxhill Indoor Bowls Club and Aylesbury Town Cricket Club.
